When it comes to politics, it’s all about empire building. Everyone who has the desire to run for office is in the game for power. It doesn’t matter if they wish to help hurt or even build personal wealth; power is the ultimate goal of every politician. What is the simplest path to power? Entitlements, rather the ability to control who receives the gifts of entitlements, is the easiest path to political power in this nation. This is why you always see our elected officials competing to out do each other with the largesse of government. You ask why entitlements? Entitlements has the double edge sword of making those who receive them dependant upon the continued receipt of those benefits and by doing so, makes the recipient more likely to vote for the politician who has the power to dispense the benefits. Also, when it comes to government programs for the poor, there is always a built in penalty that discourages the people who receive the benefits from increasing their income and thus remove themselves from the lists of recipients. For example, if you were a single mother with two children working full time and earning $15k per year and applied for all applicable government programs, you would end up having a disposable income of about $38k per year. Yet if you were a single mother with two children and earned $60k per year, you would not be eligible for any benefits as your income levels would be above the limits allowed by the various programs. As such, your disposable income after taxes, etc would be about $36k per year. So where is the incentive to do better? Why work hard putting in extra hours and earn an income that would support your family, but end up doing slightly worse than a person who simple puts in the minimum effort. It is under such programs, that politicians gain the most power for how many people do you know would be willing to put in the personal sacrifice to bridge the gap between minimum wage and the effort required to make $60k? Not many in truth, that is why our entitlement programs are growing by leaps and bounds.........
If entitlements aren't enough to get your blood boiling or make you want to give up, then consider the article about the changing of America. We were once a nation of farmers, then builders, world leaders, bankers beyond compare, but no longer.....
Do you really have the right to say what ever you want? Not according to the Supreme Court and if Congress has its way, you won't be able to say much of anything......
How actually believes what we are told by our leaders? This article covers some of the more common lies that we hear on a daily basis.
The TEA Party had a significant impact on this nation during the last election, but America's frustration goes further. People are asking "Who is John Galt"?
Enjoy!
